Nights stay mild, between 10°C and 18°C, cooling noticeably at higher elevations.

Rainfall is sparse throughout the month, averaging just 32 millimetres across the entire route. Navarre sees the most frequent rain with occasional showers across three days, while most other regions experience only one or two rainy days. When rain does fall, it tends to be brief rather than sustained, so most days remain dry. Wind gusts can reach 52 kilometres per hour, particularly on exposed ridgelines and in open terrain between La Rioja and Castille and León, where shelter is minimal.

Nights above 1,000 metres feel considerably cooler and require proper layering despite daytime warmth. High passes and exposed sections demand wind-resistant outerwear even when valleys below feel comfortable. For these reasons, start walking early each morning when it is coolest, carry light rain gear despite low rainfall probability, and pack warm layers for higher elevations and nighttime.
