The route grows progressively cooler as you move westward, starting in the relatively warmer Basque Country where you can expect around 19°C during the day, then dropping to around 16°C by the time you reach Asturias and Galicia. Nights remain consistently chilly across all regions, typically between 7°C and 12°C, so you should always carry warm layers regardless of the season feeling spring-like.

Rainfall is the dominant feature of this month, with over 170 millimetres expected across the entire route. Asturias experiences the heaviest impact, with rain falling on roughly ten out of eleven stages, while Galicia sees wet conditions on seven of eight stages. Even the drier Cantabrian sections average four rainy days, so frequent showers are virtually guaranteed. Wind gusts along exposed ridgelines can exceed 66 kilometres per hour, adding to the challenge on coastal and high-altitude sections. Nights at elevation—particularly near Sobrado at 504 metres—drop noticeably colder than lower sections.
