The southern stages near Porto and Braga experience almost no rain, but this changes dramatically in Galicia, where you should expect rain on most days with occasional heavier showers lasting several hours. Wind gusts along exposed ridgelines and coastal sections can reach 49 kilometres per hour, particularly between Viana do Castelo and the Galician border where the landscape opens to Atlantic exposure.
