The route warms considerably as you leave the coastal areas around Porto, with the inland section near Braga reaching 25°C on average before cooling slightly again. Nights remain consistently cool, dropping to between 13°C and 17°C, which means the temperature swing from day to night is substantial despite moderate daytime warmth.

Rainfall is moderate and scattered rather than concentrated. Northern stages near Viana do Castelo tend to be wetter, with rain expected on both days, while the Porto area averages only light rain.
